Gran Tanni Gal is a highly pure tannin composed of gallic or digallic acid esters with quinic acid and glucose. This tannin has an average molecular weight of 1600 to 1850 and has been granulated to ensure perfect solubility in water or wine, avoiding waste and inconvenience in use. The main actions of Gran Tanni Gal include:

  • Color stabilization: Gran Tanni Gal plays an important role in color stabilization in wines. It forms stable complexes with color pigments present in wines, such as anthocyanins in red wines and flavonols in white wines. These complexes help protect the coloring matter from oxidation and subsequent precipitation, thus helping to keep the color of wine more stable over time.
