Clean Ferm

Clean Ferm is an oenological product that plays an important role in the prevention and resolution of fermentation arrests during the winemaking process. It has multiple key functions:

  • Adsorption of toxic/inhibiting substances: Clean Ferm is able to absorb and neutralize toxic or inhibiting substances present in the must. These substances can come from various factors, such as excessive use of sulfur dioxide (SO2), pesticide residues or other impurities. Clean Ferm’s ability to adsorb these substances helps keep the fermentation process going.
  • Supply of essential nutrients: Clean Ferm provides a balanced supply of readily assimilable nitrogen (RAN) and trace elements to yeast. These nutrients are essential for yeast growth and multiplication during fermentation. By ensuring that yeasts have the necessary elements available to them, Clean Ferm helps prevent possible fermentation arrests due to nutritional deficiencies.
  • Physical support for yeasts: in addition, Clean Ferm acts as a neutral physical support for yeasts. Specifically, it provides a substrate on which yeasts can adhere and multiply. This is especially useful when the wort is excessively clear (<50 NTU) and yeasts may have difficulty finding a suitable environment for growth.
