Begran

Sodium-activated granular bentonite obtained by a special re-agglomeration process.
Begran is a sodium-activated granular bentonite obtained through a specialized re-agglomeration process. This formulation offers significant advantages in terms of ease of use due to its rapid solubility and almost complete absence of dust during handling. These features significantly improve the dispersing power and colloidal properties of Begran, leading to an outstanding performance in the clarification stage, with a high deproteinizing capacity. Main benefits of Begran include:

  • Advanced clarifying power: Begran is known for its effectiveness in clarification due to its ability to remove suspended impurities, including unwanted proteins.
  • Reduced risk of unwanted reactions: this product contributes to the decrease of polyphenol oxidases, such as tyrosinase, reducing the risks of protein oxidation and formation of copper precipitates.
  • Rapid solubility: the microporous structure of Begran allows rapid swelling in water (30-50%), with much less initial lump formation than powdered versions.

Montmorillonite (bentonite) clay: 80-90%
Compounds derived from silica: 0-20%

40-80 g/hl for musts and wines.
Preliminary laboratory tests are recommended, checking deproteinizing power (bentotest) and decolorizing function (DO420 and DO520).
Also proceed with an organoleptic test.

Disperse in cold or room temperature water at a ratio of 1:10, with vigorous agitation, until a homogeneous suspension is obtained.
Allow the solution (gel) to rest and swell for several hours (a minimum of about 6 to 12 hours).
Stir again and add to the mass to be treated.

1 kg bag and 25 kg bag.
Store in a cool, dry place.
