Dextrose monohydrate

Highly fermentable sugar, ideal for secondary fermentation in the bottle.
Dextrose monohydrate is a highly fermentable sugar used in beer production, particularly for bottle refermentation. Compared to sucrose, it is more rapidly assimilated by yeast, promoting efficient fermentation and helping reduce the risk of oxidation. In brewing, the product offers several advantages:
  • Bottle refermentation: provides the necessary sugar for secondary fermentation, ensuring proper carbonation and foam formation
  • Increased alcohol content: can be used during fermentation to raise alcohol levels without adding body heaviness
  • Reduced body: results in drier, lighter beers with lower residual sweetness
  • Sucrose replacement: suitable for a cleaner and faster fermentation
  • High fermentability: easily metabolised by yeast
Dextrose monohydrate is therefore a versatile ingredient, ideal for improving fermentation control, increasing alcohol content, or achieving effective carbonation without altering the beer’s aromatic profile.

100% dextrose monohydrate

3-6 g/L depending on the desired level of carbonation.
A dosage approximately 10% higher than sucrose is recommended to achieve the same fermentative effect.

Dissolve the dextrose in boiled water, then add the solution to the beer before bottling.

1 kg and 25 kg bag.
Store in a cool, dry place.
