Beergel 40

Silicic acid xerogel designed for beer filtration. It selectively adsorbs high-molecular-weight proteins, preserving head, flavour and aroma, and is compatible with all standard stabilisation methods.
Beergel 40 is a non-swelling saturated silicic acid xerogel with a maximum moisture content of 40%, specifically developed for beer filtration and stabilization. Thanks to its uniform surface structure and controlled pore size, it enables effective adsorption of high-molecular-weight proteins responsible for undesirable colloidal haze formation. Beergel 40 provides a selective action, targeting unstable protein fractions without affecting low-molecular-weight components that contribute to foam formation and stability. It is compatible with the main beer stabilization systems and can also be used in combination with PVPP and diatomaceous earth, without generating dust during handling and without altering the taste or aroma of the final product.

Silica gel belonging to the xerogel category.

25–120 g/hL. It is recommended to perform small-scale preliminary trials to precisely determine the optimal dosage.
Dosages may vary depending on the beer’s protein composition and the desired level of stability.

Beergel can be used at different stages of the production process:

  • In filtration: mix Beergel with diatomaceous earth in the filter dosing system and dose it during filtration
  • In maturation: allow contact for a minimum of 15 minutes up to 24 hours, then proceed with filtration to remove the product

25 kg bag.
Store in a cool, dry place.
