Greenfix

Filtered and purified solution of Kordofan-type gum arabic derived from organic farming.
Greenfix is a filtered and purified solution of Kordofan-type gum arabic, obtained by a specific process involving the exudate of the Acacia Verek tree. This solution is aqueous and is slightly opalescent, with a very faint yellow color tending to white. Greenfix plays several important roles in wine making. Here are some of its main functions:

  • Protective colloid: Kordofan-type gum arabic has exceptional protective and anticoagulant power, especially against polyphenolic substances (including low molecular weight) and protein substances in wines, both white and red. This means that Greenfix can help preserve the stability of wines during aging by preventing the formation of unwanted precipitates.
  • Color protection: by adding Greenfix to wines, it is possible to protect the color from precipitation and alteration. This is especially important for red wines, as it helps maintain color vibrancy as they age.
  • Case prevention: Greenfix is effective in counteracting the formation of ferric and copper cases in wines. These types of precipitates can be undesirable and compromise wine quality, but the use of Greenfix can help prevent them.
  • Improved smoothness: this additive can greatly improve the smoothness and velvety texture of wines, reducing the sensation of astringency in the mouth. This contributes to more harmonious and palatable wines.

Greenfix should be added to ready-made wines, either before bottling or after the last filtration, using an automatic in-line dispenser.Its high molecular weight affects the filterability of wines.
No clarification should be carried out after the addition of Greenfix.
